Selling basics

Who buys surplus electrical wire in South Carolina?

We do, statewide. We purchase copper and aluminum wire, building wire, armored cable, tray and control cable, portable cord, and medium and high voltage cable from businesses and individuals in all 46 counties.

Where can I sell electrical wire in South Carolina?

Anywhere in the state. We arrange pickup by freight, so the material does not need to be near a particular city. Use the quote form on this page or call (614) 715-3047.

Is unused electrical wire worth more than scrap?

Normally yes, when it is identifiable and has continuous footage. Scrap pricing values recovered metal; product pricing values a reel that can go back into service. The gap is widest on large conductor, medium voltage cable and sealed factory reels.

Can I sell partial electrical wire spools?

Yes. Partial spools are the majority of what contractors and plants hold. They are priced on remaining footage, construction and condition.

Do you buy small quantities?

Yes, when the value justifies collection. High-value items like 500 MCM copper or 15 kV cable can justify a pickup on their own; small branch-circuit partials are usually combined into a mixed lot.

Valuation and condition

What information do electrical wire buyers need?

Wire type, gauge or size, voltage rating, conductor material, approximate footage, number of spools, manufacturer if legible, and photographs of the reel tags, jacket print and cut ends.

Does the reel tag matter?

Yes. It establishes size, footage and often the construction, which supports a higher offer because the history is documented. Missing tags do not disqualify the material, but they reduce the offer.

Do you buy wire that was installed and removed?

Yes, if it is intact. Removal damage, jacket scoring and moisture at the ends are the factors we assess. Cable documented as never energized is valued highest.

Do you buy wire stored outdoors?

Yes, subject to inspection. UV exposure and moisture at the reel ends are the main concerns, and both are visible in photographs.

Do you buy burned or heavily corroded wire?

We evaluate it, but it usually has no product path and is priced near metal value. We will tell you honestly when a scrap yard is the better outlet.

Specific wire types

Do you buy medium voltage cable?

Yes, from 5 kV through 35 kV, and 46 kV and 69 kV with documentation. Medium voltage is quoted on specification, not weight.

Do you buy aluminum wire?

Yes. SER, SEU, URD, USE-2 and aluminum XHHW-2 are purchased statewide, priced on alloy, construction, footage and condition.

Do you buy armored cable like MC and AC?

Yes, in coils and reels, from 12/2 branch-circuit cable through large feeder assemblies.

Do you buy data and low voltage cable?

Yes, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fire alarm, security and irrigation cable. Copper-clad aluminum data cable has very little value, and we will say so.

Do you buy empty cable reels?

No. We buy the wire and cable on the reel, not the reel itself.

Process and logistics

How do I sell surplus electrical wire inventory?

Send the inventory details and photographs through the quote form. We return a line-item evaluation, and if you accept we schedule pickup and pay on collection.

How long does a quote take?

Usually a few business days for a documented inventory. Large or undocumented inventories may need an inspection first.

Do you charge for evaluation or pickup?

No. Evaluation is free and pickup is part of the purchase.

What access do you need for pickup?

A loading dock, roll-up door or yard access for a flatbed, plus a forklift or reel stand for large reels. Tell us what is available and we will plan around it.

Do you buy outside South Carolina?

Our focus is South Carolina. If you are just across a state line, tell us the location and we will confirm whether we can help.

What do you not buy?

Transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, panelboards, motors, conduit, tools and general scrap equipment. Wire and cable only.

Send the basics and a few photographs. Reel tags, jacket markings and cut ends are usually enough for us to price the material without a site visit.

  • Manufacturer or brand, if legible
  • Wire type, gauge or size, and voltage rating
  • Approximate footage and number of spools
  • Photos of reel tags, jacket print and cable ends
