Wire buying

MC Cable Buyers in South Carolina

Metal-clad cable is fast to install, which is why commercial jobs order it by the pallet and finish with coils left over. We buy MC cable in all common configurations, from 12/2 lighting whips to large paralleled feeder assemblies.

Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.

MC cable surplus from commercial work

Office buildouts, retail remodels, schools and healthcare projects generate MC cable leftovers in predictable sizes: 12/2 and 12/3 for branch circuits, 10/3 for equipment, 8/3 and 6/4 for larger loads. We buy full coils, opened coils with most of the run remaining, and cut lengths above roughly 25 feet.

Larger MC feeder assemblies, sometimes called MC feeder or armor-clad feeder, show up in industrial and data center work. Those are worth substantially more per foot and are purchased as individual items rather than as mixed scrap.

Condition and identification

Armor damage is the main issue. Crushed or kinked armor makes a coil difficult to pull and reduces value, though it does not automatically disqualify the material. The conductor print inside is the definitive identification, so if the armor is damaged, cut back a section and photograph the conductors.

Aluminum armor versus steel armor matters for weight and for corrosive environments. PVC-jacketed MC for washdown and underground applications is a distinct product and is purchased separately.

How to package MC for evaluation

Keep coils coiled and bound. Loose MC cable that has been dragged across a floor is harder to evaluate and usually ends up priced as a partial. Photograph the coil label, the armor, and a cut end showing conductor colors and ground.

If you have multiple sizes, list them with approximate lengths. MC is one of the easier products to quote from a photograph list because the configurations are standardized.

What photographs help us price this fastest

A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.

Questions about selling mc cable

Do you buy partial coils of MC cable?

Yes, when the remaining length is usable and can be measured. Coils under about 25 feet are usually treated as part of a mixed lot rather than a separate item.

Can I sell MC cable with damaged armor?

Often yes. Crushed armor reduces value but the copper inside still has worth. Photograph the conductors so we can confirm size and material.

What is the difference between MC and AC cable?

MC uses a full-size insulated ground and is permitted in more applications; AC uses the armor as the grounding path with a bonding strip. Both are purchased, but MC usually commands more.

Do you buy large MC feeder assemblies?

Yes. Those are high-value items and are quoted individually based on conductor size, length and armor condition.

Send the basics and a few photographs. Reel tags, jacket markings and cut ends are usually enough for us to price the material without a site visit.
