Inventory

Industrial wire spools and cable reels

This is what surplus actually looks like: wooden reels in a warehouse, steel reels in a yard, pallets of colored spools, and a flatbed loaded for pickup. Send photographs of what you have, even if it is stacked in a corner.

Copper and aluminum

Copper and aluminum wire buying

Copper and aluminum are priced on completely different scales, and both are purchased statewide.

Copper conductor carries the higher value per pound, and identifiable copper on a reel is usually worth more as product than as scrap. Our copper buying covers THHN and XHHW-2 building wire, 4/0 through 1000 MCM feeder, bare grounding conductor, welding cable and shielded power cable through 35 kV.

Aluminum is the volume product in South Carolina service work. SER, SEU, URD and aluminum XHHW-2 feeders move constantly, and large aluminum reels from plant reconfigurations are a regular purchase. Aluminum is priced on alloy, construction, footage and condition rather than weight alone.

If your inventory contains both, send the photographs together. We will return a line-item offer rather than a single averaged number, so you can see exactly where the value sits.

Medium and high voltage

Medium and high voltage cable buying

Above 2 kV, cable stops being a commodity. Shielding, insulation level and documentation decide the value, and weight-based pricing is almost always wrong.

5 kV, 8 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV and 35 kV

We buy XLPE and EPR insulated cable with copper tape, wire shields and concentric neutrals, in copper and aluminum. Utility distribution, substation ties, industrial plant distribution and data center medium voltage work all produce this material.

46 kV and 69 kV

High voltage solid dielectric cable is purchased with documentation. Reel tags, submittals and storage history matter more here than anywhere else, and we will tell you plainly when a reel is not a fit.

Why documentation changes the number

A 15 kV reel with a legible tag and indoor storage history is straightforward to price. The same reel with no history requires inspection, and the offer reflects the engineering risk the next buyer is taking on.

Inventory scale

Industrial cable and spool inventory

We buy single reels and complete warehouses. The transaction is the same either way: identify what is there, value it line by line, and collect it on a schedule that works for you.

Single reels

A 500 MCM copper reel or a 15 kV medium voltage reel can justify its own pickup because the value per foot is high.

Mixed pallets

Contractor shops, plant storerooms and distributor overstock are quoted line by line so you can keep what you still need.

Complete inventories

Branch closures, plant closures and warehouse clearances, including undocumented stock and full master reels.

Why sell to us

Why sell your surplus wire to us?

Because we buy wire as a product, not as recovered metal.

  • Wire and cable only. No transformers, switchgear, breakers or scrap equipment, so our valuations stay accurate.
  • Line-item offers. Every item is priced on construction, footage and condition, not averaged into one lump sum.
  • Statewide pickup. All 46 counties, with freight coordinated and loading requirements planned in advance.
  • Photographs accepted. Most reels can be quoted without a site visit, which keeps the process short.
  • No obligation. If the number does not work, you keep the material. We do not use pressure tactics.
  • Partial reels welcome. The tail end of twenty projects is a normal inventory, not a problem.

Process

How the selling process works

Four steps, no site visit required for most inventories.

  1. Send the details

Wire type, gauge, voltage, approximate footage, number of spools, and photographs of the reel tags and cut ends.

  2. We evaluate the material

We identify the construction, confirm footage where possible, and price each item on its resale path rather than its metal content.

  3. You receive an offer

A line-item evaluation with the items we are purchasing and the items we are not. No obligation to accept.

  4. Pickup and payment

We schedule freight, confirm loading requirements, and pay on pickup by the method agreed in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Who buys surplus electrical wire in South Carolina?

We do, statewide. We purchase copper and aluminum wire, building wire, armored cable, tray cable, portable cord, medium voltage and high voltage cable from businesses and individuals in all 46 counties.

Is unused electrical wire worth more than scrap?

Identifiable wire on a reel with continuous footage normally returns more than its recovered metal value, because it can go back into service. Burned, corroded or unmarked wire is usually valued at or near scrap.

Can I sell partial electrical wire spools?

Yes. Partial spools are the majority of what contractors and plants hold, and we price them on remaining footage, construction and condition.

Do you buy medium voltage cable?

Yes, from 5 kV through 35 kV, and 46 kV and 69 kV with documentation. Medium voltage is quoted individually because it is a specification product, not a commodity.

How do I sell excess contractor inventory?

Send a list or photographs of the reels, including sizes and approximate lengths. We return a line-item offer and schedule pickup for the items you accept.

Do you buy wire outside South Carolina?

Our focus is South Carolina. If you are just across a state line, tell us the location and we will confirm whether we can help.

What information do electrical wire buyers need?

Wire type, gauge or size, voltage rating, conductor material, approximate footage, number of reels, manufacturer if legible, and photographs of reel tags and cut ends.
