Wire buying

Tray Cable Buyers in South Carolina

Tray cable is the industrial workhorse for exposed runs, and it is one of the highest-value surplus items a plant can hold. We buy TC and TC-ER in multi-conductor configurations, shielded and unshielded, from 18 AWG control sizes to large power builds.

Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.

Tray cable in industrial surplus

Plants that run cable tray instead of conduit need tray cable in quantity, and when a line is reconfigured the leftover reels are substantial. Because TC-ER can be installed without conduit in exposed runs, it carries a premium over standard multi-conductor cable.

We buy power tray cable in 8 AWG through 500 kcmil, control tray cable in 18 through 10 AWG, and shielded tray cable used for VFD and instrumentation circuits. Both copper and, less commonly, aluminum conductor builds are considered.

What determines tray cable value

Conductor count and size are the first factors, followed by voltage rating and whether the cable is TC-ER rated for exposed runs. Sunlight resistance and direct-burial ratings widen the market. Shielded constructions with overall braid or foil are quoted individually.

Jacket condition matters more than with single conductors because a damaged overall jacket exposes every conductor at once. Reels that were dragged across a plant floor or stored in standing water are evaluated carefully.

Photographs that speed up a tray cable quote

Send the reel tag, the jacket print showing the type and voltage rating, and a clear shot of the cut end with the conductor colors and any shield visible. For multi-conductor cable, the conductor count and size must be confirmed before pricing.

If you have many reels, a list with reel tag information is the fastest path. We will follow up on the items where the tag is missing.

What photographs help us price this fastest

A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.

Questions about selling tray cable (tc)

What is the difference between TC and TC-ER?

TC-ER is rated for exposed runs without conduit support requirements that apply to standard TC, which makes it more versatile and typically more valuable.

Do you buy shielded tray cable?

Yes. Shielded and armored tray cable, including VFD cable, is quoted individually based on construction and shield type.

Can I sell tray cable by the partial reel?

Yes, when remaining footage can be established. Partial reels of TC-ER are common after a line modification.

How much tray cable do I need to have for a pickup?

There is no fixed minimum, but a load usually needs to be worth the freight. A single partial reel is often better combined with other surplus.
