Wire buying

Armored Cable Buyers in South Carolina

Armored cable covers every flexible metal-clad product: MC, AC, BX, interlocked armor and continuously corrugated designs. All of it is purchased, from branch-circuit coils to large feeder assemblies.

Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.

Armored cable types we buy

The category includes interlocked armor products (MC and AC) and continuously corrugated armor products used in harsh industrial environments. Hospital-grade HCF cable, metal-clad high-voltage MC-HL and aluminum-armored variants are all purchased.

Most surplus comes from commercial construction and industrial maintenance. Sizes from 12/2 through 6/4 dominate volume, with larger feeder assemblies carrying most of the value.

Armor damage and how it is handled

Crushed, kinked or corroded armor reduces usability. A coil that cannot be pulled cleanly is not a product a contractor will buy, even if the conductors inside are perfect. We evaluate armor damage honestly and price accordingly.

Aluminum armor corrodes in wet or coastal environments, which matters in the Lowcountry. Steel armor resists corrosion better but weighs more. Both are purchased.

Preparing armored cable for sale

Keep coils bound and labeled with type and size. Photograph the coil tag, the armor, and a cut end showing conductor colors and ground. For feeder assemblies, include the conductor size and total length.

Do not strip armor to prove the conductor type unless the coil is already damaged. The cut end photograph is enough.

What photographs help us price this fastest

A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.

Questions about selling armored cable

What is the difference between MC and AC cable?

MC has a full-size insulated ground conductor; AC uses the armor and a bonding strip as the ground path. MC is permitted in more applications and usually worth more.

Do you buy armored cable with damaged armor?

We evaluate it, but badly crushed or corroded armor limits resale. Conductor value is still recovered.

Is aluminum armor acceptable?

Yes. Aluminum armor is common and is purchased, though it corrodes faster in coastal and wet environments.

Do you buy HCF cable?

Yes. Hospital-grade HCF cable is purchased, usually as part of a mixed armored cable lot or in full coils.
