Wire buying
Underground Electrical Cable Buyers in South Carolina
Direct-burial cable is specified by jacket, moisture resistance and voltage class, and it is expensive enough that leftover reels are always worth a conversation. We buy underground cable across all of South Carolina.
Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.
Underground cable categories we purchase
Underground work in South Carolina splits into three product families: 600 V service cable such as URD and USE-2, primary distribution cable at 15 kV and 25 kV, and direct-burial assemblies for street lighting and agricultural use. Each has its own market and its own valuation.
We buy all three, in copper and aluminum, on full reels and as partial reels with documented footage. Mixed underground inventories from developers and utilities are quoted as lots.
Why jacket condition matters more underground
Buried cable cannot be inspected after installation, so the jacket is the only barrier against soil moisture. A nick that would be cosmetic on interior wire can be a failure point underground. That is why we look closely at reel ends and any flattened or abraded sections.
Storage matters too. Reels left standing in water can wick moisture under the jacket, especially on medium voltage cable. If your reels were stored outdoors on the ground, tell us and photograph the ends.
Selling developer and utility surplus
Subdivision closeouts, utility upgrade projects and highway lighting contracts all produce leftover underground cable. Because these projects are documented, the reel tags are usually intact, which makes quoting straightforward.
For larger inventories we can review a reel list first and then arrange inspection and freight. Small single-reel lots can often ship without inspection.

What photographs help us price this fastest
A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.
Questions about selling underground cable
Do you buy underground cable that was already buried and dug up?
We evaluate it, but recovered buried cable has a limited market because the jacket condition cannot be verified along its length.
What is the difference between URD and USE-2?
URD is a twisted multi-conductor assembly for distribution; USE-2 is a single conductor for service entrances. Both are direct-burial rated.
Do you buy 15 kV underground cable?
Yes, and it is quoted individually because the value per foot is much higher than 600 V cable.
Can I sell partial reels of underground cable?
Yes, when footage can be established from the tag or by measurement.
