Wire buying

Control Cable Buyers in South Carolina

Control cable runs the signals between pushbuttons, relays, starters and PLC I/O. It is purchased in reels by panel shops and integrators, and the leftovers are usually small enough to be ignored and valuable enough to be worth selling.

Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.

Control cable in industrial surplus

Control cable is stocked by every panel shop and maintenance department in the state. Because a typical machine needs eight or twelve conductors and the reel holds five hundred feet, the balance stays on the shelf indefinitely.

We buy control cable in 14, 16, 12 and 10 AWG, from 2 to 37 conductors, shielded and unshielded, in tray-rated constructions. Small coils are combined into lots; full reels are quoted individually.

Numbered versus color-coded conductors

Numbered conductors are the industrial standard because they make termination faster and troubleshooting easier. Color-coded cable is common in older installations and in specific industries. Both are purchased, but numbered cable moves faster.

Conductor count and shield type are the two details we need beyond size and length. A photograph of the cut end shows both.

Condition and storage

Control cable is usually stored indoors, so condition is generally good. The main issues are UV exposure for cable stored in a yard, jacket damage from being dragged, and water intrusion at the ends.

If the cable was installed in a plant and removed, check for crushed sections and cuts where it was secured. Those defects are hard to see after coiling, so inspect before you ship.

What photographs help us price this fastest

A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.

Questions about selling control cable

Do you buy small coils of control cable?

Yes, as part of a mixed lot. A single small coil is rarely worth a dedicated pickup, but ten coils from a panel shop are.

What conductor counts are most common?

7, 9, 12 and 19 conductor cable covers most industrial control work. Shielded 2, 3 and 4 conductor cable is common for analog signals.

Is control cable the same as tray cable?

Control cable is often tray-rated and marked TC or TC-ER, which allows it to be installed in tray. The terms overlap in practice.

Can I sell control cable that was pulled and removed?

Yes, if it is intact. Crushed or cut sections reduce the usable length and must be accounted for.
