Wire buying

Welding Cable Buyers in South Carolina

Welding cable is fine-stranded, flexible copper cable built for repeated flexing. It is expensive per foot, commonly stocked in fabrication shops, and frequently left over in partial reels.

Wire and cable only. Statewide South Carolina pickup, no obligation to sell.

Welding cable surplus in fabrication shops

Any shop with welders has a shelf of partial welding cable reels in 1/0, 2/0 and 4/0, plus smaller 6 and 4 AWG leads. When equipment is replaced or a shop consolidates, that shelf becomes surplus.

Because the copper is fine-stranded, welding cable has a high copper content per foot and a strong resale market for temporary power, grounding and battery applications beyond welding.

Condition is everything with flexible cable

Welding cable lives in harsh conditions: abrasion, oil, heat, sunlight. Jacket cracking and exposed strands are common on used cable, and those defects limit resale. Cable that was stored indoors on a reel usually holds up well.

Photograph the jacket surface and the cut ends. If the jacket is cracked at the reel bend radius, that is the first place to look.

What we buy and how it is priced

We buy 6 AWG through 4/0 welding cable in full and partial reels, in standard colors, plus welding cable cut lengths above about 25 feet. Pricing reflects strand class, jacket condition and remaining length.

Larger quantities of matched color and size are worth more than a mixed pile, because a buyer can use the reel without sorting.

What photographs help us price this fastest

A shot of the reel tag, a close-up of the jacket print, a clear view of the cut end, and one overview photograph of the whole inventory. Four images usually settle every question we have without a site visit.

Questions about selling welding cable

Do you buy used welding cable?

Yes, if the jacket is intact and the strands are not heavily corroded. Heavily cracked or oil-soaked cable is evaluated conservatively.

What sizes of welding cable are most in demand?

1/0, 2/0 and 4/0 move fastest because they cover most heavy welding leads and temporary power applications.

Is welding cable the same as battery cable?

They are closely related fine-stranded copper cables and can often substitute for each other, though the jacket compounds differ.

Can I sell a partial reel of welding cable?

Yes. Partial reels are the norm in fabrication shops and are purchased when the remaining length is usable.
